Before you call

1. Find the engine model and serial number On a plate or sticker on the engine shroud — not the deck. They will ask first.
2. Say what it does, not what you think is wrong “Starts, then dies after ten seconds” beats “it is broken”.
3. Know how it was stored Fuel left in it over winter is the single most common cause.
4. Check whether it is still under warranty Warranty work must go to an authorized dealer for that brand — bring the receipt.
5. Decide how it gets there Riding mowers and snow blowers need a trailer. Ask about pickup before you load it.
