Authorized Husqvarna dealers, and what each designation means

Husqvarna hands its dealers five different labels, and only one of them is about whether the shop will fix your machine. This is what each one means, in Husqvarna's own words rather than ours.

The label that decides whether your repair is free

Warranty work can only be done by a dealer the manufacturer has authorized for it. Every other question about a repair shop — the reviews, the wait, the price of a belt — comes after that one, because a shop with no factory relationship cannot bill Husqvarna for your repair however good it is.

Husqvarna's own locator answers that question with a flag it calls Offers Service, and it is deliberately separate from every flag about selling. Of the dealers Husqvarna's own locator listed when we read it, 3,724 were flagged as offering service and 286 as Crown Dealers — separate flags, and a dealer can carry either one without the other. A Regional Retailer with no service flag is a shop that will sell you a trimmer and send you elsewhere when it stops running.

What Husqvarna says each designation means

These are Husqvarna's sentences, not summaries of them. Husqvarna is unusual in publishing any: most manufacturers emit a designation as a badge or a filter and never say what it takes to earn one, which is why this is the only page on this site that prints a definition at all.

Read them for what they are about. Crown Dealer and Regional Retailer describe the range a shop carries. Preferred Partner describes standing in a market. Only Offers Service describes repair, and only Automower® Dealer describes the robotic mowers — a servicing dealer for the rest of the range is not, by that fact, a shop that will take an Automower in.

What an authorized Husqvarna servicing dealer can fix

Husqvarna's range is unusually wide for a single brand: chainsaws, walk-behind and riding mowers, zero-turn mowers, trimmers, blowers and snowblowers. A dealer authorized to service the brand is authorized across that range, which is why one Husqvarna dealer in a town can answer for a saw in March and a snowblower in November.

The width is also why the Automower® designation exists separately. A robotic mower is a different machine with different diagnostics, and Husqvarna says so by making it its own flag rather than folding it into the service one.

Checking a shop yourself, in two minutes

Open Husqvarna's own locator, put in the postcode, and read the labels on the result. The designations above are printed there per dealer, and the service flag is the one to look for. If a shop tells you it is a Husqvarna dealer and the locator does not list it, that is worth a question rather than an assumption — a listing lapses when a dealer agreement does.

Husqvarna's support site repeats the Crown Dealer definition in prose, which is a useful second reading if the locator is having a bad day.

Before you carry it in

Ask three things on the phone. Whether the shop is authorized to do Husqvarna warranty work, in those words. Whether it services machines it did not sell, because some dealers prioritise their own customers in season. And what the diagnosis costs if you decide against the repair — a bench fee is normal, and it is cheaper to hear the number now.

If the machine is a riding or zero-turn mower, ask about collection before you borrow a trailer. Whether a shop comes to you is one of the things this directory records, and it is the difference between a repair happening this week and next month.
